| The Tower of Hanoi was introduced in
1883 and
presents a permanent challenge since then. Surprisingly, no workshop or
conference has ever been devoted to the area. We believe it is time now
to do it! The main purpose of the workshop is to bring together active researchers in the area as well as all those interested in the problem. We hope that during the workshop an informal and creative atmosphere will lead to further advances on the problem(s). Andreas M. HINZ (University of Munich, Germany) and Paul STOCKMEYER (College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, U.S.A.) confirmed their participation and will present invited lectures. Index
